n 2005 God opened a unique door of ministry for Larry and his wife, Jonni, through the distribution of bibles into well over 100 correctional facilities and jails throughout the state of Florida. By 2009, bibles were also being sent to inmates requesting them from institutions in Louisiana, Delaware, Texas, and New York.
The last bible was sent out in March of 2010 after the compact text bibles being sent in were taken out of print by the publisher. No comparable bibles were found to take the place of these small pocket sized bibles, with their durable bonded leather covering that is necessary to stand up to the wear and tear they receive. After nearly 5 years of bible ministry, over 5,800 bibles were sent out to inmates hungry for a closer relationship with God through His Word. We are sincerely grateful to God and to all who contributed over the years to make this possible. Thank you!
Larry continues to work with Higher Ground Ministries to personally take the Word of God each month to inmates at Tomoka Correctional Institution and Tomoka Work Camp. He has been blessed to share the gospel with those who have never heard it, teach and encourage those who have already committed their lives to Christ, and pray with the men individually for their needs, as well as the needs of their families. If you have a burden for those behind the razor wire, keep praying and be encouraged...God is doing GREAT things in the hearts and lives of these "brothers in blue."
